Bramdean School was established over 100 years ago and due to overwhelming requests from parents we opened our kindergarten and pre-preparatory departments almost 30 years ago in 1981.

The school is situated on high ground on the outskirts of the city of Exeter in a quiet residential area. It is easily accessible being on several main bus routes and is within one mile of the M5 motorway and two main line stations. It is excellently placed to take full advantage of this delightful ancient city and the magnificent coastline and countryside nearby.

The Bramdean kindergarten and pre-preparatory departments are separate to the main school but have full use of the excellent senior school facilities such as the indoor sports hall, music and drama studios, the art department and the privately owned school playing field. The kindergarten has been expanded recently and now has its own enclosed 'astra-turf' play area, giving further opportunities for the children to play safely and securely. We feel that it is important to keep class sizes small to give children the individual care and attention they deserve, and to this end we have an excellent teacher to pupil ratio.

The kindergarten day starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.15pm. All children attend morning assembly in the school chapel. School lunches are available and meals are prepared in the school kitchen under the supervision of qualified catering staff. The kindergarten and pre-preparatory children have their lunch in the school dining room and optional breakfast and high tea are available. There are extended day facilities starting at 8.00am and children can remain after school until 6.00pm.

There are no additional costs to parents who wish to take advantage of the extended day facilities.
