Sport and Outdoor Pursuits
Pupils are required to take physical exercise throughout their time at Bramdean.
Boys in the main school play rugby, football, cricket, tennis and athletics. Girls in the main school play hockey, tennis, netball, rounders and athletics. Many of the girls also enjoy playing cricket and football.
Sports are organised both on a school and a house basis. This offers the opportunity for team play at all levels and encouragement to the less athletic, whilst enabling high standards to be achieved.
Bramdean has its own games field opposite the main school building, it has a comprehensive multi-gym facility and a covered uni-turf games area which is floodlit for evening activities including badminton, table tennis, basketball and five-a-side football.

The school offers excellent Professional coaching for all codes of sport.
Bramdean Football Academy coaching is provided for boys and girls by former La Liga Barcelona FC player and Academy player coach Javier Martin-Cortes, who has coached Jordi Alba at Barcelona.
Keith Brown, former Vice-Captain Middlesex County Cricket Club and English Cricket Board level 3 coach has also coached three current England cricketers, professionally contracted Somerset players, a Surrey player and the current England Women's Captain.

Bramdean enters a team each year in the annual Ten Tors Expedition on Dartmoor. The School has
enjoyed much success in this event, finishing amongst the leaders from the 400 teams taking part.
Demonstrating outstanding grit, determination and strength of character, pupils show their dedication and drive, training in all weather conditions under the expert leadership of specially trained staff.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
It is organised by a member of staff and many school activities are suitable as qualifications for the Award. Pupils can participate in the scheme in their own time.
BOPs (Bramdean Outdoor Pursuits)
Walks over Dartmoor and the surrounding areas are organized by a member of staff and are scheduled regularly for interested pupils.
Outdoor Adventure Training
Residential outdoor adventure trips take place each year. Boys and girls get the opportunity to experience gorge walking, paddle boarding, kayaking and raft building.
